The decision to refuse planning permission for a solar farm in Kildare has been appealed to An Bord Pleanala.
Soleirtricity applied for leave to build a10 megawatt solar photovoltaic farm on a site in the townland of Loughandys, Southgreen Road in Kildare town.
In a decision issued in September, Kildare County Council declined to grant permission.
The firm has referred the matter to the national planning authority, which is scheduled to issue its decision on February 15th.
The development description, as published by KCC, is as follows:
"a 10 megawatt solar photovoltaic farm comprising photovoltaic panels on ground mounted frames, 1 no. single storey inverter/transformer station, 1 no. single storey switchgear and associated transformer station, internal track, security fencing, CCTV/lighting poles, widening of an existing entrance onto the Southgreen Road and all associated ancillary site development and landscaping works.
